The Assisted Living Innovations Platform (ALIP), funded and managed by the Technology Strategy Board, are currently working on nine individual projects throughout the UK and the IET conference Assisted Living 2009 March 24-25, London will provide delegates an update on each. These projects are primarily focussed on the following:
- VirtEx - virtual community of connected carers and cared-for
- Health hub; user centred design, development and integration with the built environment
- Gait Trainer - innovative real time gait training system for people with an abnormal gait
- TV-based Video Telephony Platform for Assisted Living and Tele-Health
- PEACE - Personal Care Environments delivering support for vulnerable people
- Assisting the Elderly and disabled Generation using a behaviour modelling Intelligent System (AEGIS)
- An evaluation of the potential benefits of proactive preventative telecare and telehealth systems
- NOCTURNAL (Night Optimised Care Technology for UseRs Needing Assisted Lifestyles)
- Intelligent Design Engine for Assisted Living Technology (i-DEAL)
