Workshop on Intelligent Objects in AAL
The smart home of the future will be filled of intelligent objects that have the capacity to sense the user and communicate with other objects. These objects allow to infer something about the behavior of humans, and other intelligent objects.
Sensors embedded in the home enviroment can provide context information to support context-aware applications, additional information about a person’s cognitive state and physical capability can be inferred from interactions with familiar objects in the environment.
The Workshop on Intelligent Objects in Assisted Living at AmI09 will discuss existing research and future directions related to intelligent objects in Ambient Assisted Living (AAL). This includes both theoretical and applied research related to Augmented (Smart) Objects in AAL. The focus of the workshop will be to explore the use of intelligent objects, augmented objects, or smart objects in the development of context aware applications for the purpose of monitoring well-being and supporting independent living.
